"I Just Wanna Be Loved" is the first single from Culture Club's fifth album, Don't Mind If I Do. The hit single went to No. 4 in the UK Singles Chart. It became Culture Club's ninth top 10 hit there. It was their first release after their split in 1986. The song was released in North America, in the summer of 1998, to promote Culture Club's reformation US tour and the live album and compilation VH1 Storytellers/Greatest Moments. It failed to generate interest on US radio. In Canada, the music video was broadcast quite often and the song was on strong rotation on many popular radio stations, the song went to No. 18 there. It was released in the autumn of 1998 in the rest of the world. The comeback song went straight in at No. 4 on the UK Singles Chart, during a week where the entire top five positions were held by new entries for the first time.
