Buffalo

Buffalo was a Heavy Psych band formed in Sydney, Australia in 1971. The band left a legacy with Australia's stoner rock, heavy metal, pub rock and alternative rock movements. The band had evolved from the Brisbane blues-rock outfit Head, which was originally formed in 1968 by Dave Tice and Peter Wells. A change of lineup and a shift in musical direction saw the new band emerge - the name Buffalo was chosen (according to legend, randomly off a map of Australia) as it was seen a more marketable name than the previous Head, which had been considered to be offensive due to its sexual and drug connotations.

Your senses are returning
You'll soon be on your way
The old bridge is burning
It's your new life's first day
So lift up your hands
And raise the banner high
'Cause the old order's dead
And there's a new flag we'll fly

As you travel down the highway
And you open up your mind
And you groove down each byway
And you'll study truths you'll find
And remember don't deny
Another who's in need
And there's a reason still to cry
Until every man is free

If you open up your eyes
You'll understand the things I mean
And someday you'll see why
Men die for their dreams
Travel on to freedom
Yeah, travel on to freedom
Travel on to freedom
Travel on to freedom, yeah

Travel on to freedom
Oh, won't you travel on to freedom
Travel on to freedom
Oh, won't you travel on to freedom
Freedom can be yours
And freedom can be mine
We can take it anytime
You want it here and you want it now
Let's have freedom anyhow
Come on, make it freedom make it mine
Make it freedom make it mine
Freedom, freedom, freedom
Well, well, freedom, now, now, now
Traveller, freedom now
Travel on
So, freedom now, baby, baby, baby
Freedom
Freedom, freedom
Yeah, yeah
Freedom, yeah
