Chance McKinney

Montana-born and raised, Chance McKinney delves into our relationships to work and how we perceive the act of making a living with his forthcoming collection of music. Across his music's steely landscape, he constructs what he dubs “industrialized country.” Chance submitted one of his songs, an evocative piano ballad titled “Be Real,” into CMT’s Music City Madness competition. The weeks whizzed by, and soon, he rose victorious, taking the title that December with more than one millions cast across the country. In the following years, he toured with and shared stages alongside Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Jake Owen, Alan Jackson, Ronnie Dunn, Darius Rucker, Dwight Yoakam, Creedence Clearwater and Lynyrd Skynyrd, among others. With five EPs already under his belt, Chance got to show off his talents when his most recent EP 'I Squared' debuted in the Top 15 on the iTunes Country Album chart.

We ain’t got no problems babe
Everything is working out
But if I drove you to drive away
Before you hit the edge of town
I wouldn’t turn to alcohol
I couldn’t break down and cry
How could I shed a tear (If I'm)
Already dead inside

(I’d rather take a) hundred fifty grains of lead to the chest than watch you walk away one night
Or wake up tied down to the train tracks… than hear you say goodbye

If you walk out that door, girl I need you to understand with the hurt, I’d endure… you might as well… kill a man

You might as well just kill a man

Everyone around us babe
Seems to be falling down
But somehow that’s okay
It’s you I can’t live without

(I’d rather take a) hundred fifty grains of lead to the chest than watch you walk away one night
Or wake up tied down to the train tracks… than hear you say goodbye

If you walk out that door, girl I need you to understand with the hurt, I’d endure… you might as well… kill a man

Solo [Kill a Man]

(I’d rather take a) hundred fifty grains of lead to the chest than watch you walk away one night
Or wake up tied down to the train tracks… than hear you say goodbye

If you walk out that door, girl I need you to understand with the hurt, I’d endure… you might as well… kill a man

Slap your face on a wanted poster, leave this country on the lamb with the pain, I’d endure you might as well

… Kill a man
