Half Hadley

Half Hadley is an independent American rock quartet that formed in October 2018 after a Tigers Jaw concert at Brooklyn Steel. The four members met as a loose circle of mutual friends and left as bandmates, knowing something special was on the horizon the moment they made introductions. The group features Scott Rainaud (Lead Vocals), Benji Arnold (Guitar, Vocals), Troy Johnson (Guitar) and Winston Vargo (Drums). Since forming in the morning hours outside of a dive bar in Brooklyn after that fateful show, the band has become a regular in the New York rock scene where all four members currently reside, practice, and perform. Notable performance venues include Rockwood Music Hall, Arlene’s Grocery, Pianos, and the Bitter End. Diverse musical backgrounds and influences from each band member help to foster a creative environment where each member’s ideas come together to form their unique sound. Drawing influence from a wide array of genres including alternative rock, metalcore, psychedelic rock, punk rock, pop punk, classic rock, post-grunge, emo, and indie, Half Hadley seeks to encapsulate audiences using dissonance, minimalism, and authenticity as their north star when writing and performing music. Half Hadley recently recorded their first 3 singles under the musical direction of Jeff Berner, a producer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist based out of Studio G in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Studio G has worked with well-known artists including The Black Keys, Highly Suspect, Matisyahu, A War on Drugs, Pretty Lights, and Howie Day. Reticent is a cautious but hopeful modern waltz about the unspoken feelings in a new connection and headlines the trio of tracks. Check Engine Light pulses – a melodic dream sequence dipped in classic rock and Chunky wraps as the cathartic rock anthem written from the ashes of a broken love. Kings of Leon, The Strokes, Manchester Orchestra, Taking Back Sunday, Tame Impala, The Killers, Bloc Party, Queens of the Stone Age, and Mt. Joy are among the most influential artists for the band.

Looking far across the road
I'm not sure where I'm supposed to go
For everything I see, it all just looks the same
I contemplate that life for me's already made

But if I open up to you
Would then I finally find the truth?

Am I all I am supposed to be?
Is there something more out there for me?
Am I stumbling down a path that's already known?
Is there someone above or am I in this alone?

But if I open up to you
Would then I finally find the truth?
Am I just floating through all my yesterdays?
Is my tomorrow set or can I make a change?

But if I open up to you
Would then I finally find the truth?
Am I just floating through all my yesterdays?
Is my tomorrow set or can I make a change?
