Slater Joel

SINGER *SONGWRITER* WORSHIP LEADER “Slater Joel” Johnson, a native of Chesapeake, Virginia, is an International recording artist who is anointed with a powerful gift from God to change the atmosphere whenever he ministers in song. He is not only an accomplished musician, but also an anointed praise and worship leader, musical producer, actor, and gifted songwriter. Previously, Slater has served as the praise and worship leader for First Baptist Church West Munden of Chesapeake and Grace Fellowship Worship Center of Virginia Beach. Currently, he leads various worship services for The Mount Global under the Executive Minister of Music, Earl Bynum. The Mount Global, centered at Mount Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church in Chesapeake, is led by Bishop Kim W. Brown and Elder Valerie K. Brown. Slater Joel was featured on the live recording Bishop Kim Brown presents Earl Bynum and The Mount Unity Choir, which won the 2014 Stellar Award for Contemporary Choir of the Year. Slater also toured with Michael M. Smith in Europe during the 2013 Christmas holiday season. He has also served on the same programs as various artists including: Peggy Britt, Marvin Sapp, Vernon Gordon, Pastor Norman Hutchins, Michael M. Smith, Deon Kipping, and J.J. Hairston. Since 2013, he annually leads morning and late night worship services at the Hampton University Ministers' Conference, one of the largest conferences held on the east coast of the United States. Slater Joel, continues to use his gifts to glorify God, take territory for His Kingdom, and encourage the people of God.
