Rise out of nothing
Bid goodbyes to malevolence
Gon' fly beyond, above, and then shine free
Godspeed
Rise out of nothing
Bid goodbyes to malevolence
Gon' fly beyond, above, and then shine free
Godspeed
Woke up this morning like a workaholic over-stressing
Momma blooming, smiling like a blessing
An indiscretion of such, I've been at war with myself
And I thought of hugging my demons tighter and drowning my weapons
I used to run away, from all the thoughts
my brain too often is another cage
Like, this is my only shot I can't just put the gun away
I've been deserted way too long, forgot my soul has been frozen
Now I'm swimming lavas I'm trying to push the sun away
Woke up this morning like an alcoholic over-stressing
I'm guessing maybe that liquor was crazy
I haven't been drinking lately, a phase
The puddle I'd been tripping on is now sullied and allayed (Yeah)
But I have been patiently waiting, simple as KOTA has put it
"Love's a combination of letting go and holding on to it
You will learn when to do which and get more love in return
than you ever know what to do with."
Coveting the melody but she's a broken record
The more I try to fix it, it ruins
Now I sit back and I'm rocking onto its trembling music, amain
I'm saying, 'Leave a message', my melancholy and pain
Got me right off on my wings, and maybe I don't wanna fall again
Maybe I don't wanna fall again
Maybe I don't wanna fall again
Woke up this morning, I went to bed at two
My coffee mug's hit the fourth refill; a better brew (uh)
A perfectionist writing songs 'til perfection hits
He fell for imperfection hoping she'd make him a better dude
Look, I've been stressing. Working hard till I get it
I'm trying to love that man in the mirror holding up weapons
I'm trying to throw my momma in rides, build her a mansion
And tell her to wipe 'em tears, it is fine
Not to keep stressing (look)
Trauma pushing off, and the reasons you couldn't find, uh
Laughing at the pane (pain) and the window throwing a light, huh
Hoping that the sun would just come up and then would shine
On the rain from yesterday and the puddles seem to be drying out
Been off social media 'cause I needed time out
Cut some people off like my connection's on a flight out
They want me losing, I came from nothing, I'm choosy
About the people I'm cool with, you do better when you find out
It's midnight
I feel trapped inside
Looking back on myself in a different time
Now I fight back
Trying harder than ever but I know
I can't outrun who I am (Who am I?)
Trying to align myself in perfect symmetry (Perfect symmetry)
Fading away as your definitions mold me
Something deep inside of me knows this ain't the end (Knows this ain't the end)
Greater things await me beyond where I stand
I learned it hard, like (yeah)
What is my vision trying to find now?
Is it lurking for purpose?
Or is it trying to immerse more into me loving myself?
I'm doing fine now (uh)
(Maybe)
But lately, I don't know what's happening
Wake up in the morning, working hard, and getting back at ten
Bottled-up emotions, weight enough to break my shoulders
Warm out in the streets but my mind keeps getting colder
I don't know why I'm worried, sorrowed alone, and one moment
I'm laughing off with peers, then I'm crying at four in the morning
Grandma, I miss you, I swear
Ain't been myself, I've been holding all of my crippled self
Folding up often since you've been gone away to a better life
Baa, hold me like when I was little
They say the ones who love you are forever there, they're meant to stay
But you've gone afar and 'till the day I see you there myself
I hope the angels take care of you and I hope you're in a better place
I hope you're in a better place
I hope you're in a better place
I hope you're in a better place, yeah, yeah
I love you
Rise out of nothing
Bid goodbyes to malevolence
Gon' fly beyond, above, and then shine free
Godspeed
Rise out of nothing
Bid goodbyes to malevolence
Gon' fly beyond, above, and then shine free
Godspeed
Rise out of nothing
Bid goodbyes to malevolence
Gon' fly beyond, above, and then shine free
Godspeed
Rise out of nothing
Bid goodbyes to malevolence
Gon' fly beyond, above, and then shine free
Godspeed
