It was Tuesday afternoon, last January, a day I'll never forget
Snow started falling in the morning and hadn't let up yet
I was sitting at work, I started feeling sick, told the boss I was going home
He yelled something 'bout a deadline but I was already gone

I was thinking about my girl waiting at home for me

When I pulled into the driveway, saw a strange car on the street

She looked down and then the phone rang, must've been one of her friends
She wandered off into the other room, that's how our conversations end
I just wanted to lie down, so to the bedroom I did go
And outside my bedroom window, I saw footprints in the snow
