As I bridge the gap between my future and past
I see that choices made lead me down the same path
An endless cycle full of twists and turns
I reflect on lessons that I wish I learned 
I got more thoughts and theories then questions answered
Impossible queries and the burdens they carry 
The scenery varies but the results don't change
I could halt the pain but the fault remains
The current builds until a surge reveals
That I'm powerless now as I ever was then
But I prefer to pretend that all those pieces mend
If I just keep 'em hidden and leave the memories with 'em
But what a fool I've been
Oh the wool I've seen
Pulled tight, withholding light
But the bliss has faded till whats left is hated.

I've always lacked resolve, when backed up I cracked up

A fools exposure, flaws out open
Wisdom disposed of, a cost I've chosen
I paused at hopeless and lost my focus
I drowned unnoticed till I found my quotient
Now I'm primed and ready, my legs are steady
I found my heading so its onward bound
All the winds have changed, I savor the favor
A little longer now and I'll be off the ground
I walked the crowd until I lost my crown
A foster child but I'm adopted now
Wings spread, don't wanna spoil the rest
But keep your eyes to the sky to see me flying blessed

Made my bed in winter, you forced away the rain
Laid to rest a sinner I'm reborn a saint
Saved the best for dinner I got now more complaints
But I got more to say I cant afford to
Lay back or stay back indebted to pay back
The poor man's wage it implores to grace
To restore this place all the way back to way back
I wouldn't trade today for the pearly gates
Might be a world away I know its worth the wait
But I'm assured by faith that every hurt will fade 
And every worst mistake can be a first embrace
So I pursue this end through all the wind and waves
And its a learning curve to try and do the right thing
When the earth was cursed we all lost our mercy
Now we sow and reap and we all know what's thirst
But you amend our state to what we once deserved
And your heart preserves every child who serves
So I'ma burn my brightest until the end of time
This little light of mine is gonna continue to shine
